State Fair

Yes it is State Fair time again. Ah the smells of elephant ears, steak sandwiches, deep fried snickers bars, and the taste of that sweet lemonade, that is the state fair. Ok, maybe I forgot the rides, the people watching, the farm animals, the corn on the cob, the turkey leg, and the deep friend coke.

There is a lot to do at the State Fair! I went to the state fair yesterday, beautiful day, but extremely hot, 96 degrees, with little breeze. The one thing that I like about the annual state fair is that is promotes families and family activities. Dads can take the family and kids out to the fair, have some great food, and alot of activities that are centered around the family.

Kids love the state fair. My son is begging us to go back already, and since the fair this year is 17 days long, we promised our son that we will be going back to the fair again before it ends. One piece of advice that I will give other dads, take plenty of water, have your walking shoes on, wear a hat, bring the sunscreen, and make sure your wallet is full of cash.

As Summer is coming to an end, dads take your kids and family to the good ole State Fair, and have a great time!

The Ugly Truth Movie Review

The Ugly Truth Movie Review by Daddy Planet. I took the wife out to see the romantic comedy "The Ugly Truth" this past weekend. The movie is a great date movie, so dads if you are looking for a movie that is perfect for the wifey or the girlfriend, this is it.

The Ugly Truth features Katherine Heigl as a producer of a news network in Sacramento. It is her job to find talent for different program on the network to boost ratings. One talent is hired directly by her manager, whom she despises. The new talent is rude, blatant, and forthcoming on relationships with men and women. The new talent is a big hit on the network. She doesn't believe in his mentality of relationships. However, the new talent and Katherine eventually connect with an odd sort of relationship, but fall in love towards the end of the movie. Sounds predictable? Yes, but not really.

The movie is funny, romantic, and perfect for a date night. Dads will enjoy the movie for the humor and comedy. Let me know what you think of this movie. Thanks.
